Dear Friends and Partners,

God began to speak to Craig and Kim about 7 years ago about a desire to have more children. They already had three of their own children. God answered their prayers and a family of three children from Russia was waiting for them; however, they had no money and needed $30,000 to make the adoption a reality.

My wife and I (along with our friends and church family) knew that we must help, but did not know where to begin. So we prayed and God told us to hold a garage sale in our driveway. We knew that garage sales were a lot of hard work and usually not much money; however, it was what God was telling us to do. The bigger problem was that we did not have anything to sell in the garage sale—so how could we have a garage sale with nothing to sell?

We notified the Fort Worth Star Telegram that we had a wonderful human interest story which their readers would want to know about. After being told "no thanks" five times, the sixth editor finally said, "Yes." They agreed to interview the Carrillo family and spread the word about the garage sale, including the need for donations.

Only God could do the rest. After one front page newspaper article and a second story later, our driveway was not only full of donations, but our whole back yard as well! So, along with our church family and friends, we were getting ready for a sale on Friday and Saturday. When Thursday's paper arrived at 5:00 a.m., we discovered a mistake. They announced that the garage sale would begin that morning at 7:00 a.m.!

Well, the gates opened at 7:00, and the next three days were unbelievable! Craig and Kim sat near a table in the drive which had two jars, one for garage sale items and the other for cash donations. Have you ever witnessed an anointed garage sale? An outdoor glider was priced at $150, and the lady asked if she could have it for $300. Yes, people paid more than the asking price! Also, the weather could not have been worse. It started raining on Saturday morning. Not a drizzle—a Texas downpour! The crowd continued to come in record numbers, peeping under tarps to buy sofas in the rain, while others continued to bring new items to sell.

God's Garage Sale brought in $7,303.15! We had never made more than $400 in a garage sale. This one confirmed Craig and Kim's desire of their hearts, and it helped raise the $30,000 needed. They now have their three Russian children, making a family of eight in total. God is blessing them richly.

Many of us have adopted children spiritually through the JESUS Film Harvest Partner's ministry. You may not have a family of eight on earth, but spiritually you will have in heaven someday. The three orphans that Craig and Kim physically adopted had seen the Jesus Film in their orphanage in Russia prior to adoption. God cares for his children around the world through people like you.

My prayer for you today is that you will experience a God Garage Sale in your heart and that you might enjoy all that He has planned for you on this earth. Craig and Kim never dreamed that someday they would have six children until they started listening to the voice of God prompting them.

You have made it possible for children around the world to hear the story of Jesus. It would never have happened had you not obeyed the voice of God. I know for sure, God's Garage Sale would never have happened if we had not been in the center of God's plan for our lives.
