Dear Friends & Partners,

Wonderful Dinner Conversation |
As Wayne and I visited at the dinner table one evening this week, we discovered that we were the same age, had the same heart for "the least of these" and the same desire for winning the lost to Jesus around the world. Experiencing God’s presence--describes my time at the dinner table and later that evening as we walked around Wayne’s new home.
The evening wasn’t about Wayne. Our conversation centered on his heart for others and how to connect them to Jesus. As we talked about purpose in life at this season of our lives, I knew that Wayne and his wife Peggy were touching many lives both in their local church, community and around the world. As we talked about his daily activities, I saw that his priorities centered around his purpose in life because that is how he spent his time—how to locate a larger building to feed the poor, or how to continue to present the story of Jesus to more people. Their willingness to serve others was apparent.

Peggy Baked 40 Pies! |
Their new home was spacious and lovely. However, it wasn’t designed to serve them, but to serve others as God had blessed them. There was the Bible study which meets in their home every Tuesday night--the missionary apartment in their home--Peggy volunteering to bake a homemade pie for everyone at the local church who made a donation for one parking space to expand the church parking lot. She ended up baking 40 pies for 40 people to raise $40,000. Everything pointed toward serving others.
Wayne and his family have not been without hurt and suffering. The loss of a baby at birth. Two grandchildren who suffer daily with a terminal illness. I am sure the list goes on. But believing that God is God and choosing not to focus on their losses, they spend their time, influence and resources on others. Their focus is outward, rather than inward.
It was an anointed evening because the heartbeat of what I heard and saw was focused on serving others, not on what they have or don’t have. Their hands are open rather than grasping—open in giving God all that they have to reach the lost for Jesus.

Focus on Serving Others by
Becoming The Hands and Feet of Jesus
|
Why am I sharing this? It’s not about Wayne or Peggy. They are the vessels in this portrait, but the artist is Jesus. It’s about lifting up the name of Jesus around the world through different vessels-- through the JESUS Film Harvest Partner ministry and other ministries which reach the lost in their local church and community. We serve a very big God and He wants us to reach both.
My challenge to you today, whether God has blessed you with a lot or with a little, is to focus on serving others, on turning the lost toward The Father, on becoming the hands and feet of Jesus (something that He has called us all to do!).
Thank you, God, for the Wayne's and Peggy's in this world and for their being a JESUS Film Harvest Partner. Thank you for their hearts which point hundreds if not thousands of people toward Jesus.
Blessings,
