Dear Friends & Partners,

Oh, the joy of making missions personal! The joy of replacing statistics with faces! I experienced it just last week as I watched a JESUS Film Team sponsor (John) meet his JESUS Film Team leader (Miguel) for the first time.  We were in a remote section of the Dominican Republic on a JESUS Film Partner Trip.  John had prayed for his team for four years, read the reports, and heard of the poverty-stricken countryside.  However, when he inhaled the putrid air, beheld the malnourished children, and greeted Miguel and his wife for the first time, his heart melted and he and Miguel became one in the common goal of helping a hurting world!  Their love for each other mounted as the hours of showing the JESUS Film together turned into days.  And many accepted Jesus!  

One night the whole town lost electrical power, but the generator allowed us to continue the showing.  Another night our trip team members attracted the crowd—Wendell dressed up as a clown while others were drawn to David who towers 6 feet 9 inches tall.  David who is a seminary student also preached both Sunday morning and evening services. The result—many made decisions for Jesus.  These are unique ministry opportunities under adverse conditions.

On several occasions we set up medical clinics and assisted up to three doctors during the daylight hours. We followed this by showing the JESUS Film in the evening—a holistic approach to ministry. 

My heart leaped with joy as another partner team member, David, chose to give his nearly new laptop computer to the local JESUS Film team.  They can now send in monthly reports in a timely manner and complete other administrative tasks.  What we sometimes take for granted is a huge deal to those who live in third world areas.

Your involvement as donor, whether little or much, means more to team members on the front line than you will ever realize until you meet in heaven (unless you meet on earth first).
