ROI Ministry, Inc. Announces Top 10 List of Most Impactful Christian Charities That Donors Should Consider
 ATLANTA, Dec. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Currently most Christian giving ends up where it will make the least impact, but it doesn't have to be this way. One Christian organization has found a cure by evaluating charities with a specific approach that integrates multiple donor considerations including an "eternal" component. The group tracks what they call the Eternal Return On Investment (eROI) and the main delineator between a charity and ministry.
Forbes Magazine recently published a list of charities in the U.S., where Christian organizations dominated the top. Our current ministry needs are:
- Launch 47 New JESUS Film Teams for $15,000 per year/team (or $1,250 per month for 12 months for 5,000 decisions for Christ)—Help reach people who have never heard the name of Jesus; and,
- Equip 56 Teams with Full Equipment Sets for $6,000 per set (or $500 per month for 12 months for 2,000 decisions for Christ)—Help put tools in the hands of people waiting to share Jesus;
- Enable 67 Teams with Solar Powered Backpack Sets for $4,000 per set (or $333 per month for 12 months for 1,333 decisions for Christ)—Helps reach remote Gospel-resistant areas;
- Provide 300 Pastors Need Audio Bibles for $100 Each (New Testament audio Bible allowing those who don't read to hear the Bible in their heart language; and,
- Unlimited Harvest 120 Sponsorships ($30 per month) (Through your contribution of $360 a year, over 1,000 people will see JESUS and 120 of those will make a decision for Christ!).
End-of-Year Giving:
 All checks postmarked on or before December 31st will apply to 2011. All credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express) processed online (www.JFHP.org, Donate menu) before midnight Central time December 31st will apply to 2011. Please note: Credit/debit card transactions that are mailed to JFHP and received after December 22nd will not be processed until January and, therefore, will not apply to 2011.
2011 JFHP Annual Giving Statements will be sent by postal mail by the end of February.
IRA Charitable Rollover Restored:
On the afternoon of December 17, 2010, the President signed into law The Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010. This bill restores the IRA Charitable Rollover for 2010 and permits its use in all of 2011. This law is unusual, time-sensitive, and could greatly benefit JESUS Film Harvest Partners so I wanted to share it with you immediately.
Individuals are once again able to make tax-free charitable transfers directly from an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to qualified charities during 2010 and 2011. JESUS Film Harvest Partners is a qualified charity. Here is a quick summary of the facts:
- Donor must be 70 ½ years of age or older at the time of the transfer.
- Transfers must be direct from the IRA to qualified charities.
- Charitable transfers cannot exceed $100,000 per taxpayer per year.
- Individuals who choose to make a charitable rollover from their IRA trustee to a charity may make their 2010 charitable gift during 2010 or in January of 2011.
- The transfer is not included in taxable income and no charitable income tax deduction is created.
- Transfers will count toward the Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).
Nearly everyone who meets the age requirement can benefit, including those who:
- Do not itemize deductions and therefore do not benefit from charitable gifts
- Would rather not take a RMD and thereby increase taxable income
- Already give up to 50% of AGI
- Are subject to deduction limitation rules
I encourage you to consult with your personal tax and financial advisors about the potential benefit of this opportunity for your personal situation. To request a charitable IRA transfer you will need to contact your IRA custodian in writing and give them the following instructions:
