Missionary Tim Eby with ARK

ARK

End of ARK Used for Projection of JESUS Film

Often, a story from one of our missionaries states what I would like to say, but better than I ever could. Tim Eby, a missionary to Senegal, Africa, shares the following story:

The JESUS Film Ark team brought to us a tent that will help us in the development of the work.

Through encouraging words and support this team composed of both young and old encouraged our people here in Senegal. They walked the streets of the city and the paths of the village, showing the film, and simply being apart of demonstrating love to others. On the last night the team was here we invited them to our home for a celebration dinner and a debriefing. After the team left and my wife and I collapsed in bed, well after 2 am as we prepared for our last day with the team, the unthinkable happened.

While we were asleep, thieves broke into our house through a roof access door, into the very room where we slept, and stole our laptop computers and cash. The ministry money was taken at great loss including our own personal funds. The following Monday after the team left they broke in again and took our sons PSP, which he had saved his money for a year to buy. We took some drastic measures to secure our home, even getting a watchdog to help. By Friday night we had a third attempt but this time the dog met the thieves and they ran. It was a sudden blow to our spirits. As though the tide had changed and we were now drifting out to sea. Information gone, tools for ministry lost, operational funds missing. What to do?...

Throughout this year I have marveled at how God has blessed my family. Though our things were taken, God sent loving friends and family who have restored my laptop and given our son a PSP again...

Staying the course, taking both the good and the bad, but ever pressing forward. Paul from the first century church must have understood this struggle. Keep in prayer with us, as we attempt to do as Paul did, "I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me."

JESUS Film Drive-In

JESUS Film Drive-In

Some of our missions work is done here in the USA. Maynard and Barbara Amstutz work on the border between Mexico and the USA. They recently shared this story:

As Volunteer Missionaries for the Border Initative, Maynard and I have become increasingly aware of how God can use us if we have faith and move forward. We just returned from a trip to the Gallup, New Mexico area where we were privileged to share the JESUS Film with the Navajo and Zuni people on the Reservations. It was such a delight to see the interest of these tribal groups when the f lm was shown in their own language.

The results were exciting as inroads were made into two cultures that desperately need the love of Jesus in their lives... during our four showings of JESUS Film and Magdalena, Released from Shame, we saw some wonderful transformations begin in the lives of these people.

First Drive-In Movie
On Thursday night we set up the film at the Zuni Tribal headquarters along the main street. Many cars travel this route and we ended up with 80-100 people, in cars, watching the story of Jesus in the Zuni language. The first Drive-In Movie for the JESUS Film!

Whether half way around the world or serving on the mission field in North America, using the JESUS Film as a tool to tell non-Christians about Jesus is what we do best. Today, my challenge to you is to pray more, give more, and continue to live your life by serving these missionaries who serve the people on earth on both sides of the ocean.

Thanks for being a JESUS Film Harvest Partner!

Blessings,
