Your prayers help empower the persecuted church…
“They did not really like our presence,” said a team member in Kenya. “The people of the area, especially the young people, were adamant in their misguided understanding of Jesus as only a prophet. Their radical ways were oppressive. A team member, previously a follower of their staunch beliefs, shared his story. This softened the hearts of some. Miriam was moved by the Lord’s Spirit, but was not willing to take a stand for Christ. We worked in the area for three days, in constant prayer for the people. On the third day, overcoming fear of persecution, Miriam made a bold, public display. Standing before a large crowd of peers, she professed her faith in Jesus! This broke down walls, freeing others to do the same.
Praise God for breaking down walls to allow access to His love!
“Where there is persecution, there is the work of God,” said a pastor in Nepal. “The JESUS Film team walked two hours to visit a village where five years earlier a team had been harassed and treated badly. Two years ago, many believers’ homes had been burned. When a group of Christ-followers provided materials to rebuild their homes, the villagers realized God’s people are good people. Now, many have accepted Jesus as their personal Savior, and are meeting in a home.”
Pray for the new believers to grow in their faith as they meet together.
“Give me money or I will tie you up!” declared the university student, Proshanto, in a South Asian country. “We were in an area which is remote where most people work in the tea gardens. Proshanto accused us of making money through the showing. The crowd watching the film became angry and threatened to restrain Proshanto. We were able to calm the situation and share scriptures with Proshanto. He apologized and stated he would learn about Jesus. We have now established a Preaching Point here. Pray for us as we face opposition while showing the JESUS Film.
Pray for Proshanto to learn about Jesus and give his life to Him.
Praise and Prayer Requests:
- Praise the Lord for the safe return of the participants who ministered in Cuba this month.
- Pray for the JESUS Film teams as they share about Jesus and celebrate His birth.
