Your prayers help empower the persecuted church…
May the blessings of our Savior be with you
this Christmas season!
“The church is thriving under persecution,” said a team leader in Sri Lanka. “The dominant religion in this area makes it difficult to share God’s love! Before traveling to a village, we pray for the Lord’s help. In one village, a strong believer of the oppressing religion was moved by Christ as he saw the JESUS Film. He wholeheartedly accepted the Lord. He is eager to study God’s Word and serve Him.”
Praise God for the change in this viewer’s heart!
“I know if they kill me, God will save my soul,” said Lai in Nigeria. “The voice on the microphone caught my attention with an invitation to a special event. At the JESUS Film presentation, I heard Christ speaking for the first time in my own language! I was aware of the Lord, but fearful of making a decision to follow Him because of family persecution. Today, I am standing for Jesus. I prayed to Him, confessing my sins. He has forgiven me and washed me clean. Now I am a child of God. I am happy to be here. I will be in the fellowship gathering with others tomorrow. My joy will be complete when I sit with others singing the Lord’s songs. Pray for my family.”
Pray for Lai to stand strong in the face of oppression and be an effective Kingdom witness.
“Stop the showing or there will be dire consequences!” threatened the student in a South Asian country. “We were showing the JESUS Film in a very poor area where many are malnourished. The area is populated by two extreme religious groups. Because of this, we often face danger. A local believer, Brother Allen, helped us set up a JESUS Film showing. A group of 150 people came to the showing, but it was interrupted by the student and his friends. Some threatened to break our equipment. The two religious leaders intervened and agreed to allow us to finish the showing. The student apologized after seeing the teachings of Jesus in the film. Many accepted Jesus and became Christ-followers. We gave them “The Story of Jesus the Nazarene” book and taught them to pray. We now have a Preaching Point in the village.”
Pray for the new Christ-followers to be strong and share their new faith with others.
- Pray for the JESUS Film teams as they minister during the end-of-year holidays in their countries.
NOTE: Due to the Christmas holiday schedule, the next Prayer and Praise will be published January 4, 2017.
