Holy Spirit Heals Kenyans During JESUS Film Crusade

"Barnabus and I were at the stage eagerly waiting for a pastor who was coming from Nairobi to bring with him the JESUS Film," a film team member from Kenya recently wrote. If it weren't for the African setting, one might think this story originated in Acts, complete with the disciple, Barnabus. But it's really another week in the life of a JESUS Film team.

The pastor brought the equipment that evening, the team member wrote. And for the next four days, the team collaborated with a local church to show the JESUS Film during the church's crusade in the marketplace. During the first three days, over 3,000 people saw the JESUS Film, and 75 people became believers. But the fourth showing was different. Team members described it as a spiritual "explosion."

"We had a revelation from the Holy Spirit that people of Mtito were sick from different diseases," the team member wrote. So the team asked to see the sick and prayed for them. "One sister, the Holy Spirit told her to bring her sick child even before the time of JESUS Film," the team member wrote. "The child was suffering from malaria, and by faith, the child received instant healing."

A woman whose stomach was swollen for five years was healed in a moment. As the team prayed for a woman battling cancer, the cancer left her body. When the team finished praying for the sick, they counted 15 people who testified to instant healing.

"On the last day, there were shouts of victory in the crusade which made one of the witch doctors to leave his working place to come and witness the manifestation and the power of the Holy Spirit," he wrote. As the healing meeting closed, 22 people out of more than 1,000 testified faith in Christ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Personal Testimony from Southeast Asia

"I was brought up in a small village where nearly the whole community is animist by religion. I never heard about Christ in my life. I am very religious and performed wonders and signs in animist practices. So the people respect me very much.

Even though I have done many good things in our traditional ways of religion, I have no peace and feel that there is something lacking in my life.

By this time, there is a group of Christians came into my village and began to show JESUS Video. At first I ... fight with them, because I do not want to bring any other religion in my own community.

But one night, I went to that place and watched secretly from the back. When I saw Jesus Christ, a sinless man and God, suffering for mankind, I was touched by the Holy Spirit. He convicted me and transformed my whole being and I became a new creature in Jesus Christ and I shouted with a loud voice, 'Jesus, mercy on me, I am a sinner!'

In the same moment, another three persons also accepted Christ as their personal savior. So, now we are 18 believers and worship the living God in one house."

Woman Accepts Christ, Then Dies -

Malawi

October 24, 2002

The last reel of the JESUS Film ended. The lights flickered on around the film screen. The Malawi South JESUS Film team invited the audience to accept Jesus Christ. A young woman approached the team with her father and mother.

"Please pray for our daughter who is plagued by a chronic illness," her parents begged the team.

"Is there anything else we can help you pray about?" one team member asked the young woman.

"I want the Lord to forgive me of my sins, and make me His child," she said.

The team prayed with her and spent the next day conducting follow-up with her family and the other new believers. Then they left her town to take the film to a neighboring area.

While they were involved in ministry there, a messenger brought news that the young woman passed away. The team immediately returned to her town to see her parents.

"I am happy that my daughter prepared her heart and set things right with God before she departed," her father said. "I am delighted that God's will has been done."
