Will you pray with us this May?

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —

and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”

Ephesians 2:8 (NIV)

May - Week 1

Prayer Points

  • Colombian teams request prayer for committed leaders, especially younger men, to reach the youth with the gospel.

  • Guerilla groups have been oppressing Colombian Christians and closing churches. Believers are targeted because their obedience to God’s Word prevents them from supporting the violent factions (guerrillas or paramilitary groups) funded through narcotics trafficking and other criminal activities. Pray for a decrease in violence and for the displaced Christians to find hope amidst the turbulence.

May - Week 2

Prayer Points

  • Burkina Faso is another nation where attacks against Christians have increased dramatically in recent years. Pray for security and stability in the region so JESUS Film teams can continue to reach the unreached. Pray those forced to flee their homes will remain faithful to Christ.

  • Praise God for this report from Burkina Faso teams: “This year was full of hope, grace, and miracles. We reaped the harvest and made significant progress in reaching the lost!”

"My husband is a charlatan. I did not know there was a power higher than my husband’s idols. However, my child got sick and my husband could not heal or help him, despite his great reputation. A cousin visited me and suggested we take our son to the church, where the JESUS film was to be screened. During the film, I saw how God dominates over fetishists, and I became convinced He could heal my son. I gave my life to Jesus! Afterward, the team prayed for us. My child’s condition has improved. I give thanks to God!"

Kiemde in Burkina Faso

May - Week 3

Prayer Points

  • Guatemala teams faced a variety of ministry challenges last year, including heavy rains, opposition from community leaders, and long and difficult journeys by foot to reach villages with the gospel. Pray for the teams to feel supernaturally encouraged and strengthened to overcome these obstacles for the love of their neighbors and God’s glory.

  • Praise God for the teams’ creative evangelism strategies that have opened doors to share the Good News and disciple new believers in unique and remote places, including schools.

May - Week 4

Prayer Points

  • Pray for the Togo church to be refined by rooting out syncretism, false teaching, and idolatry. Pray that God’s shining light breaks through the darkest corners, and that people see His glory.

  • Teams are doing ministry in areas where there are frequent attacks from extremist groups. Pray for God’s peace to touch the hearts and lives of victims and attackers alike. Pray for any plans to interrupt JESUS film showings to be spoiled and abandoned.

Thank you for continuing to pray for the 1,109 JESUS Film teams!
