💡 Will you pray with us this January? 🙏

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world.
Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

John 8:12 (ESV)

January - Week 1

Prayer Points

  • Praise God for the positive reports from teams last year, including “many prominent people in the local community came to the Lord,” and “persecution was less than usual.” Pray these spiritual victories continue as the gospel multiplies in Ethiopia, and that teams are encouraged by this momentum.

  • This year, teams plan to travel further to show the film in more remote villages. Pray for travel mercies for the teams. Pray also for peace for the team members’ families while they are gone, for strength to support the ministry and for their own close walk with the Lord and witness to others.

January - Week 2

Prayer Points

  • Praise God for this testimony from Brazil team #6: “Even with great challenges, we don’t stop. We have seen God restore lives, families, and health! We have seen fruit.”

  • Teams request prayer as they search for new and creative ways to share the gospel in their ever-changing cultures. Pray for all spiritual falsehoods, idols, and each Brazilian’s need for Christ to be exposed.

  • Pray alongside team #9 for their fellow team members to “see challenges as opportunities for growth, innovation, and strengthening the faith of the team and local church.”

I started smoking at age 16 and at 20 I joined a gang which spread terror in its wake. I lived a life of debauchery on the streets, far from the presence of God. Thanks to the JESUS film, I know by believing in Him I can be saved. I made the decision to give up cigarettes, drinking, and this life of depravity. I was even adopted by the pastor who took me off the street because my own parents rejected me at age 10. I gave my life to Jesus and know He can heal me and transform my life!
Fofana in Cote d’Ivoire

January - Week 3

Prayer Points

  • Praise God alongside Cote d’Ivoire teams for many opportunities to make Jesus Christ known this past year, including a door-to-door strategy that increased their evangelism footprint in communities. They also saw success in the orality movement, which helps new believers spread the message of the gospel by retelling Bible stories.

  • More women have stepped up to lead Preaching Points. Pray they are powerful and unique witnesses to Christ in their communities.

  • This year, teams have a goal of evangelizing in areas dominated by a radical religion. Pray that God opens doors in dangerous, unreached places and sensitizes the hearts of those they evangelize.

January - Week 4

Prayer Points

  • Burundian team leaders request prayer for their team members to have unwavering strength and unity in their vision to save more souls.

  • Pray for elders and high-profile villagers to provide and voice their support as they seek to show the film in communities.

  • Pray for sustained Christian leadership in the midst of Burundi’s fragile peace. Pray for more Christian workers in the rural areas where refugees are returning.

Thank you for continuing to pray for the 1,166 JESUS Film teams!
